I have two questions regarding RTO manevouer.

1) We know that aurobrakes automatically arm at 90 kts ground speed, and if rejected below that speed auto brakes doesnt work but there is no cockpit indication of that. How do pilots know if the autobrakes are actually braking during the RTO if they started the manevouer at high speed?

2) during rollout callouts 100,80,60 are based on IAS or GS?


Hi Matt,

1. The RTO braking will give you maximum braking, you will very easily recognize that. It is like slamming your brakes in car at high speed.

2. Callouts are normally based on IAS (subject to SOPs)
